Note: Roman Imperial bronzes are attributed with Sear numbers (e.g. "S.575") whenever possible, which refers to the numbers in the Fourth Revised (1988) Edition of Roman Coins and their Values by David R. Sear. Roman denarii, antoniniani, and other silver denominations are attributed with RSC numbers, which refers to the numbers in Roman Silver Coins by H. A. Seaby. Greek and Byzantine coins are attributed with Sear numbers from David R. Sear's Greek Coins and their Values and Byzantine Coins and their Values, respectively. Judaean coins are attributed with Hendin numbers from David Hendin's Guide to Biblical Coins . Effort has been made to ensure that all coins are attributed accurately; however, some types are not listed in many references, and an attribution number is not always available.

Roman Republican Silver Denarii
Please note that Roman silver coins are sometimes discovered with wavy or bent flans.  This was often done in antiquity, and was frequently the result of barbarians testing the coins for good silver quality (good silver would bend easily, whereas fouree -- silver-coated coins with bronze centers -- would be exposed).  Unlike modern shovel marks, which would be considered damage, such bends are part of a coin's history.
